Localized algorithms for information fusion in resource constrained networks

چکیده
The Information Fusion Journal (IFJ), an Elsevier publication, is planning a special issue devoted to Localized Algorithms for Information Fusion in Resource-Constrained Networks. Resource-Constrained Networks (RCNs) include a wide variety of networks in which resources – such as processing, communication, and energy – are limited. Examples of RCNs include ad hoc networks, sensor networks, mobile networks, and pervasive systems. In RCNs, the tradeoff between data quality and resource usage (especially energy) is a major concern. In this case, Localized Algorithms and Information Fusion are particularly interesting for RCNs, since the development of efficient practical solutions and algorithms is possibly the most challenging task for such networks. On one hand, Localized Algorithms are special distributed algorithms in which only a subset of nodes partakes in the network tasks, such as data acquisition, processing, and communication. On the other hand, Information Fusion is often used for improving the quality of data being transmitted in these networks. Thus, Localized Algorithms for Information Fusion must deal with the challenge of working with partial views, or incomplete data, to provide accurate results at reduced cost.

Detecting communities of workforces for the multi-skill resource-constrained project scheduling problem: A dandelion solution approach
This paper proposes a new mixed-integer model for the multi-skill resource-constrained project scheduling problem (MSRCPSP). The interactions between workers are represented as undirected networks. Therefore, for each required skill, an undirected network is formed which shows the relations of human resources. In this paper, community detection in networks is used to find the most compatible wo...
متن کاملLocalized sensor management for multi-target tracking in wireless sensor networks
For a multi-hop wireless sensor network, the limited sensing and communication resources give rise to distinct challenges to the task of tracking mobile targets, which is traditionally treated primarily from the data fusion perspective. This paper investigates the impact of sensor management on data fusion in a resource-limited network. A localized multi-sensor multi-target tracking framework i...
متن کاملMulti-Focus Image Fusion in DCT Domain using Variance and Energy of Laplacian and Correlation Coefficient for Visual Sensor Networks
The purpose of multi-focus image fusion is gathering the essential information and the focused parts from the input multi-focus images into a single image. These multi-focus images are captured with different depths of focus of cameras. A lot of multi-focus image fusion techniques have been introduced using considering the focus measurement in the spatial domain. However, the multi-focus image ...

A multi-objective resource-constrained optimization of time-cost trade-off problems in scheduling project
This paper presents a multi-objective resource-constrained project scheduling problem with positive and negative cash flows. The net present value (NPV) maximization and making span minimization are this study objectives. And since this problem is considered as complex optimization in NP-Hard context, we present a mathematical model for the given problem and solve three evolutionary algorithms;...
